Varsity Head Coach Michael Wirth  -“If you want to be the best on the court, you have to strive to be the best in all areas of your life.” This quote from Coach Wirth has been his blueprint for success on and off the court when it comes to building quality basketball programs. He has led multiple programs to school records in wins and/or high Team Average G.P.A’s.

Coach Wirth was named Varsity Head Coach at Campo Verde High School in 2013. Prior, he was the Varsity Head Coach at Skyline High School in Mesa and Maricopa High School. His 2002-03 squad finished 21-3 and Coach Wirth was also named Maricopa Unified School District Teacher of the Year in 2003. In his first head coaching opportunity in Iowa Coach Wirth lead Armstrong-Ringsted High School to more wins in his first year than the previous three years and the team was recognized with a team G.P.A of 3.0 or higher.

A native of Iowa, Coach Wirth was an All-State selection at North Iowa High School and a member of the University of Minnesota-Morris team. Coach Wirth has obtained his Masters’ Degree in Educational Leadership, Principal Certification and currently teaches in the Social Studies Department.

He is married to Andrea Wirth, who played collegiate basketball at Waldorf College and Simpson College. They have 3 boys, Creighton (8), Lincoln (5), and Granite (2).



Assistant Varsity Coach Eric Bloom - Coach Bloom graduated from Greenway High School in 2001, where he was a three year letterman as a shooting guard, two time all conference player and third team All-Arizona his senior year.  He was a two-time All American guard at Glendale Community College before finishing his playing career and graduating from San Jose State University. he then went on to receive his doctorate from Duke University in physical therapy and runs his own practice in Mesa.

He was a varsity assistant for two years at Greenway High School and most recently was the JV Head Coach at Gilbert Christian. Eric is also the chairman of the board of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA)-East Valley where he can combine his passion for sports and working with athletes. Coach Bloom is excited to have the opportunity to grow young men in their development as players and individuals. Eric is married to his wife Rosemary, who is a Physical Assistant at MD Anderson and they both enjoy exercising and travel.




Head Junior Varsity Coach LeSean Marks Coach Marks graduated from Hamilton High School in 2010, where he was a two-year letterman point guard and three-year letterman hurdler. His success in high school on the basketball court and the track garnered him many opportunities to be a collegiate athlete. He played one season of basketball at Arizona Christian University before ultimately choosing to run track.

He has coached 4 years for Tom Kuyper Basketball and has coached all ages, specifically 8th grade and 5th grade. The passion for the game Coach Marks had as a player now shows in his coaching. He is excited to be on staff at Campo because of the desire to not only mold great basketball players, but to also mold great young men of character and respect.

Off the court Le'Sean enjoys going to the movies with his wife and playing the piano. He and his wife currently live their lives with no children or pets, but do plan have to have a couple in the future




Head Freshmen Coach Mark Zinke - Born and raised in Mandan, North Dakota. Graduated in 2011 from Mandan High School. 2-year letterman and team captain for the varsity basketball team, 3-year letterman, and 2-year all-conference selection for the varsity football team. Played all 4 years of collegiate football at Valley City State University in North Dakota. Was a team captain and a big part of 4 conference championships there.

In college, he coached elementary boys basketball for two years and was a certified basketball referee for two years. In 2016-2017, was freshman football offensive coordinator and head sophomore girls basketball coach for Mandan High School.
Now a Physical Education teacher at South Valley Junior High. Also a JV football assistant coach this season at Campo Verde.




Assistant Freshmen Coach Andy Valadez -  Another former player returns to begin a career in coaching. Coach Valadez is currently attending Chandler-Gilbert Community College after graduating from CVHS in 2015.

 Coach Valadez was an All Section selection his Senior year and one of the key players in one 2014-15 squad which set the school record for most wins.
